Box Score KIRKLAND, WA-The Montana State University-Northern Skylights downed the Evergreen State College Friday night 71-35 in the opening round of the Adidas Northwest Classic hosted by Northwest University. Skylight senior
Natalee Faupel led all scorers with 22 points on 8 of 10 shooting. Propelled by an 11-0 run, MSU-Northern took a 37-17 lead into halftime, and outscored the Geoducks 34-18 in the second half, including another 11-0 run.
The Skylights shot 46 percent from the field and out-rebounded the Geoducks 34-24. Junior
Kealani Sagapolu led the Skylights with 9 boards. The Skylights forced 25 turnovers on the night.
Faupel was joined in double figures by junior
Jacy Thompson, who scored 10 points. Evergreen State was led by Zaria Jones, who scored 10 points.

Chris Mouat said, "We did an outstanding job on the defensive end of the floor tonight. Evergreen has some very quick and athletic kids, and they did a nice job of pressuring us. I thought we had some lulls on offense at times, but for the most part, it was a complete team effort and a great win for us."
The win moves the Skylights to 5-0 on the season. They will play Saturday night against tournament host Northwest University at 7:30 p.m.
