Story of the Game
The No.21 MSU-Northern Skylights bounced back after a tough conference loss Friday night to defeat the RV Carroll College Saints 53-42. The loss was Carroll's second in a row.
Stat of the Game
A tough Northern defense held the Saints to 33.3 percent from the field (18-of-54) and just 12.5 percent from beyond the arc (2-of-16). Â
Turning Point
Northern quickly committed two turnovers in the opening minutes of the first quarter and saw themselves down 0-4. This was the only time in the contest that CC led. Senior guardÂ
Brandy Lambourne scored on a drive to the basket and helped spark an 8-0 run to put the Skylights up 11-6 at the 2:26 mark. Northern shot 53.8 percent from the field to edge Carroll College 15-12 at the end of the first period. The Skylights continued to apply defensive pressure and held the Saints to just six second quarter points to take the 25-18 lead going into halftime.
Northern had the largest lead of the game midway through the third quarter when senior guard
Jacy Thompson knocked down a jumper in the paint to put the Skylights ahead 33-23. The Skylights kept a comfortable lead for much of the fourth quarter to secure the win.
The Skylights So Far
Northern is 6-4 overall and sit at 1-1 in Frontier Conference play.

The Skylights will return to action on Dec. 15 as they take on Nueta Hidatsa Sahnish College in non-conference action. Game information will be posted shortly on the schedule page.
