Game Recap: Men's Basketball | | Northern Sports Information

Lights Hit Century Mark for Fifth Time, Defeat YCC

Story of the Game
For the fifth time this season, the Lights basketball team scored 100+ points in a game.  The 101-49 non-conference win was over Yellowstone Christian College Thursday evening at the Armory Gymnasium.  Every Northern player scored and had at least one assist on the night.

Stat of the Game
Northern once again proved why they lead all of NAIA in three-point makes per game after they drilled 20 shots from beyond the arc.  The Lights finished the game 20-of-44 (45.5 percent) from downtown and were led by both junior guard Gabe Porter and sophomore guard Adam Huse who each had seven threes on the night.

Turning Point
The Centurions were the first to strike as they took a 4-3 lead in the opening minutes of action, but that was as close as they would come to the Lights for the rest of the contest.  Northern used multiple runs in the first half to build a 27-point lead going into the break up 50-25 over YCC.  The second half of the game saw the Lights continue their momentum on the offensive end as they connected on nine three-pointers and shot 47.1 percent from the field.

The Lights So Far
Northern is now 8-3 on the season and remain 1-1 in conference play.

Up Next
The Lights are back in action Dec. 15 as they take on Nueta Hidatsa Sahnish College at the Armory Gymnasium.  Tip-off is scheduled for 8:00 PM and all game links are available on the schedule page.
