Skylight hoopers earn All-American Honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced the 2017 NAIA Division I Women's Basketball All-America Teams Thursday. Players were selected by the NAIA-Women's Basketball Coaches Association All-America Committee. Each team – first, second and third – consists of 10 individuals.  Montana State University-Northern had two student-athletes representing the Skylights basketball program: Natalee Faupel and Sierra Richards.

Senior guard Natalee Faupel was named an NAIA Division I First-Team All-American (her second straight season).  She is the first Skylight in program history to ever repeat as a First-Team All-American.  Faupel averaged 24 points per game at the 2017 National Tournament which ranked her fifth overall.

Senior forward Sierra Richards was named NAIA Honorable Mention All-American.  Her 4.5 offensive rebounds per game at Nationals ranked her tenth overall in the tournament, just behind NAIA's No.1 ranked offensive rebounding leader Claire Lamunu from Vanguard University.
