Jacy Thompson hit a three point shot from the top of the key with 14 seconds left in play to give MSU-Northern a 44-42 Frontier Conference semi-final win over Montana Western Friday night in Havre.  Kaye Bignelll missed a contested last second shot from the baseline that would have sent the game into overtime.
Montana Western led most of the first half and all of the second half until 
Thompson's game winning three pointer.  The Bulldogs led 23-14 at the half, holding the Skylights to two second quarter points.  MSU-Northern shot a frigid 15 percent in the first half (3-of-19).
Montana Western led 35-32 going into the final quarter.  Montana Western shot 36 percent from the field and MSUN 30 percent in the hotly contested defensive battle.
The Skylights outrebounded the Lady Bulldogs 37-28 including 12 on the offensive boards.
Thompson led MSUN in scoring with 14 points, followed by 
Natalee Faupel with 12 and 
Sierra Richards with 11 points and nine rebounds.
Aniese Palmore led the Lady Bulldogs with 13 points and nine rebounds from her point guard position.  Britt Cooper added 12 points.
MSUN moves to 23-7 and Montana Western drops to 23-8.  The Skylights will now travel to Lewiston, Idaho to take on the No. 2 Lewis-Clark State Warriors for the Frontier Conference Championship on Monday.
