Story of the Game
The Northern Lights football program headed into their homecoming game against the University of Montana-Western Saturday afternoon with the hopes of picking up their first win of the 2017 campaign, but turnovers on the offensive side diminished any shot at getting a victory as the Lights fell to the Bulldogs 7-61.
Stats of the Game
Northern committed five turnovers (four interceptions, one fumble) in the first half of the contest, two leading directly to touchdowns by UMW that put the Bulldogs up 41-0 at the half. Â
Turning Point
After the Lights' defense kept the Bulldogs within seven points at the end of the first quarter (0-7), Montana-Western scored off two straight touchdowns to start the second quarter to extend the lead to 20-0.Â
The Lights So Far
The loss puts the Lights on a four-game losing streak at 0-4 as they sit eighth in the Frontier Conference.
Up Next
