Northern Drops Match to #17 Montana Tech

Story of the Game
In Northern's second straight home match, the #17 Montana Tech Orediggers swept the Skylights in three straight sets (25-20, 26-24, 25-18).  The Orediggers hit just .164, well below their season hitting percentage average of .227 while Northern only notched a .100 on the evening.

Stat of the Match
Sophomore Hannah Amtmann collected a game-high 25 of Northern's 66 digs.  The defensive specialist currently sits fifth in the conference in overall digs (253) and fourth in digs/set (4.5).

Turning Point
The second set appeared as though the Skylights were in for a quick loss right from the start.  Montana Tech reeled off seven straight points that led to a six point lead at 11-5, but Northern battled back much of the set and pulled within three points at 16-19.  The Skylights eventually lost 24-26.  

The Skylights So Far
Northern has now lost two straight home matches and move to 2-3 in the Frontier Conference standings (8-11 overall).

Up Next
The Skylights will look to avoid a three game home losing streak when they play host to Lewis-Clark State College Saturday afternoon at the Armory Gymnasium at 2:00 PM.  The Warriors are 1-3 in their last four matches.  Game links are posted on the schedule page.
