Story of the Game:
The Lights played their last game at the Cactus Classic against Vanguard University in Chandler, Arz. Northern lost 72-68. The Lights were up at half time 40-34. Northern lost the lead at 9:51 left in the game. From then on the score went back forth. Until 1:15 left in the game when Vanguard controlled the lead. Vanguard outscored the Lights  in the second half 38-28.  
 
Individual Stats:
The MSU-Northern Lights had four athletes in double figures. The Lights were led by Joe Fons shooting 5-5 with 13 points. Mascio McCadney had 11 points and led in rebounds with six. Devin Bray and Caulin Bakalarski both had 10 points each. Adam Huse led the team in assists with six.
 
Vanguard University had three athletes in double digits. Isaiah Gentry led the team's offense with 22 points shooting 8-10 from the field and 4-5 from behind the arc. Geremy McKay had a double-double on the afternoon with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Brandon Brothers added 15 points shooting 6-10 from the field.
 
Stats of the Game:
The MSU-Northern Lights shot 49.1 percent from the field, 50 percent from behind the arc, and 60 percent from the free throw line. Northern made 10-20 3-pointers.
 
Vanguard shot 43.8 percentage from the field, 47.4 percent from the 3-point line, and 70 from the free throw. Vanguard pull down 14 offensive boards, and scored 11 points off second chances.
 
The Lights so Far:
The Lights fall to 8-6 in the overall season and 0-2 in conference play.
 
Up Next:
Northern won't be back in action until after Christmas. The Lights will be back on Jan. 4 at 8 p.m. in a Frontier Conference match up against University of Montana-Western.
