Havre, Mont. - Jared Samuelson pumped in 32 points including the game winner in the final seconds as Rocky Mountain defeated Montana State Northern 73-72 in the first round of the Frontier Conference Playoffs in Havre. Â Cayveoon Jones had given MSUN a one point lead with a three-pointer from the left corner with 8 seconds to play. Â Samuelson then answered with a jumper in the paint to give the fifth seeded Bears the win.
Rocky Mountain led 37-32 at the half and finished the game shooting 51.67 percent from the field (31-60). Â The Bears got 11 points from Craig Wilmore and 10 from Latrelle Franklin.
MSUN (19-12) was led in scoring by
Adam Huse with 17 points and
Ryan Reeves and
Charles Porter with 16 each.
There were 11 lead changes in the hotly contested second half. Â The win was the first in four games for the Bears over MSUN.
