The Skylights played well enough to take the lead in the game's final minute Thursday night, but they were unable to hold on and fell to the Lady Bulldogs 57-62. The Skylights took their first lead of the game at 9-7 with 4:49 remaining in the first quarter when junior forward Jessica Curl connected on a two point bucket from the paint. Three pointers near the beginning and the end of the second quarter by Brandy Lambourne and Peyton Filius helped give the Skylights the lead heading into halftime at 33-30.  The Skylight lead lasted half of the 3rd quarter until it was relinquished by the Bulldogs with 5:06 to go in the third at 40-41. The Lady Bulldogs took the lead heading into the fourth and led by as much as six points with only 6:06 to go in the game.  Back to back two pointers in the paint and a free throw by Skylight freshman Tiara Gilham pulled the team to within one point at 40-41 with 4:21 left in the game.  Senior forward Kealani Sagapolu gave the Skylights their final lead of the night when she broke a tie score of 56-56 by hitting a free throw with :46 seconds to play putting MSU-N up one.  The Skylights missed two 3 pointers in the last minute in their final attempt to earn a win at the Straugh gymnasium. Tiara Gilham pulled down 5 rebounds and led the Skylights in scoring with a new career high of 14 points on 6-7 shooting. Senior swing player Shiloh McCormick scored 12 on 5-14 from the field. Next in scoring was junior forward Jessica Curl who put up nine points on a perfect 4-4 shooting in 15 minutes of action. Senior guards Peyton Filius and Brandy Lambourne each accounted to for seven points and four assists on a combined  5-16 shooting. Kealani Sagapolu scored six points on 2-5 shooting and pulled down three rebounds to go along with two blocks and a steal.

The Skylights Now: MSU-N drops to 1-12 in conference play and 9-15 overall.
