Dillon, Mont. - MSU-Northern held the lead for most of the first half against the No. 15 Bulldogs of Montana-Western, but in the end came up just short of the upset 62-70 in the Frontier Conference Playoffs in Dillon. Brianna King tallied a game-high 29 points on 9-of-18 from the field including 3-of-7 from beyond the arc. The Skylights led by as many as seven points midway through the second quarter and took the 37-35 lead into the locker room at halftime.
After tying the game twice in the third quarter, UMW went up by six points at the end of the stanza to extend their lead to 53-47. Late in the final period, Northern moved within three points when sophomore guard
Shiloh McCormick drilled a three-pointer from the baseline to pull the score to 58-61.
