Story of the Game:
The MSU- Northern Lights lose their first conference game by a score of 7-51 against Rocky Mountain College in Havre on Saturday afternoon. The Battling Bears were able to score in every quarter, as Northern only scored in the 4
th quarter.
Stats of the Game:
The Lights had a total offense of 227 yards, as Rocky had 564 yards. The Battling Bears held the Lights to 102 rushing yards with 18 yards lost. Both Northern and Rocky were able to force two fumble each, as Ryder Rice from Rocky Mountain had one sack.
Individual Stats:
Senior quarter back
Tommy Wilson led the Lights offense with 16 complete passes for 125 yards, and adding one touchdown. Sophomore
Marvin Williams received two catches for 22 yards, and added a touchdown for the Lights. Junior
Jett Robertson led the Lights run game with 96 yards on 24 carries.
Northern defense was led by sophomore
Jake Norby with 9 tackles (four solo, five assisted). Junior
Morgan McCrary had a total of 6 tackles on top of one forced fumble and two fumble recovery.
Devariej Criss,
Chase Gilbert, and
Alec Wagner added seven tackles each.
Jacob Bakken led the Battling Bears offense with 19 completed passes for 241 yards, and added three touchdowns. Rocky Mountain defense was led by Chase Bertelsen with 8 total tackles (three solo, five assisted). Ryder Rice added five total tackles and had one sack for a loss of 4 yards.

The Lights so Far:
Lights go 1-1 for the season and 0-1 in the Frontier Conference. Rocky Mountain is still undefended at 2-0 in conference.Â
