Skylights Get Their First Conference Win

Story of the Game:
The MSU-Northern Skylights won in overtime 59-55 in a Frontier Conference matchup against Montana Tech on Saturday night in Havre, Mont. The Skylights led at half time 27-16. In the third quarter, both teams scored eight points. The Oregiggers came back in the fourth quarter outscoring the Skylights 25-14 sending the game into overtime. Allix Goldhahn hit a big three taking the lead by two points in overtime. The game was tied with 30 seconds left on clock, when Tiara Gilham sunk a three point shot. Montana Tech ran the clock down to 10 seconds, when Gokce Aslan got a steal to seal the game for the Skylights.
 
Individual Stats:
The MSU-Northern Skylights were led by Tiara Gilham with 20 points going 7-13 from the field. Sydney Hovde added 13 points and six rebounds. Peyton Kehr had 10 points. Gokce Aslan added seven assists.
 
The Orediggers were led by Mollie Peoples with 17 points going 7-13. Mesa Williams had 16 points and eight rebounds going 6-11 from the field. Kaylee Zard had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
 
Stats of the Game:
The MSU-Northern Skylights shot 41 percent from the field, and were 45 percent behind the arc. They went 8-10 from the free throw line (80 percent).
 
Montana Tech shot 32 percent from the field, 30 percent from behind the arc, and 13-14 percent from the foul line. 
 
The Skylights so Far:
The Skylights move to 9-9 in the overall season and 1-5 in conference play. The Orediggers move to 1-5 in league play.
