Story of the Game:
The MSU-Northern Skylights played their season opener on October 20, against Mount Royal University at2 p.m. The Skylights won holding Mount Royal to 50 points, as Northern scored 63. In the first half, the Skylights outscored Mount Royal 31-27. Mount Royal came back in the third to take the lead 31-32. Northern took the lead and never gave it up after that.

There were two Skylights in double figures on the night. The Skylights were led by
McKenzie Gunter, who had 14 points going 8-11 from the free throw line.
Sydney Hovde added 10 points going 4-6 on the night.
Hailey Nicholson grabbed 14 rebounds (6 offensive), had six points, four assists, and five steals.

Mount Royal was led by Maddison Hooper, who had 15 points on the night. Maitlynn Miller added nine points.
