Story of the Game:
The Lights played on Sunday afternoon against University of Montana in Missoula, Mont. The Lights lost 50-64. The Lights came out hot taking the lead early in the game. Northern went on a 12-0 run at the beginning to make the score 18-6. The Lights kept a good lead until Kendal Manuel hit a three 3:22 left in the game to start the Grizzlies 11-0 run before half time. The Lights lead going into half time by two points (32-30).
Kavon Bey stopped the run after the half scoring two points. Kyle Owens hit a jumper to tie up the game 34-34. The Grizzles took the lead at 13:18 left in the game with a score of 42-43. Montana started to inch away with the win.
Individual Stats:
Northern had two athletes in double digits. The Lights were led by
Kavon Bey, who had 15 points on the night going 50 percent from the field and added eight rebounds. Mascio MacCadney added 14 points and five rebounds.
University of Montana was led by Sayeed Pridgett, who had 30 points going 13-20 from the field. Pridgett added five rebounds and four assists. Kyle Owens had 11 points going 5-8 on the field and added five rebounds.
Stats of the Game:
The MSU-Northern Lights shot a field goal percentage of 37.7, 24 percent from the arc, and 100 percent from the free throw line. The Lights were just shy of beating the Grizzlies on the boards (30-31).
University of Montana shot 45 percentage from the field, 14.3 percent from the 3-point line, and 80 from the free throw.
