Skylights Split On Last Day In Arizona

Story of the Match:
The MSU-Northern Skylights volleyball played in the Arizona Christian University Tournament on Saturday in Arizona. The Skylights went one of two matches. In their first match, the Skylights won against SAGU American Indian College in three sets (25-15, 25-12, and 25-9). In their second match, they played Dakota State, as they lost in three sets (18-25, 15-25, and 23-25).
 
Stars of the Match:
Against SAGU the Skylights attack was led by Elissa Lind, who tallied 13 kills and 11 digs. Shay Waldbillig accounted for 20 assists on the afternoon.  Abigail Ellison came up with 14 digs to lead the Skylights.

SAGU was led by Jamika Coleman, with five kill. Michealynn Ben led with 10 assists and 14 digs in the match.

Against Dakota State, the Skylights were led by Rylee Burmester, who tallied nine kills. Shania Neubauer accounted for seven assists on the afternoon.  Kaitlin Murdock came up with eight digs to lead the Skylights.

Dakota State was led by Hannah Jellema, with 15 kill. Rachel Johnson led with 22 assists in the match, as Peyton Groft led with 11 digs.

Stats of the Match:
In the Skylights first match against SAGU, Northern had a hitting percentage of .284 on the day, while SAGU hit -.089. Northern had nine aces and had six blocks. 
In the Skylights Second match against Dakota State, Northern had a hitting percentage of .130 on the day, while Dakota State hit .257.

The Skylights Will head to Great Falls to play in the University of Providence tournament on September 6 at 1 p.m. against North Idaho College (scrimmage).
