Skylights Battle to Split the Weekend

Story of the Game:
The MSU-Northern Skylights beat Montana Western 72-70 on Sunday in Havre, Montana. The first half was anyone's game. The Skylights were able to take the lead by two with 2:10 on the clock until halftime. The Bulldogs answered, as Lily Gopher hit a two-point shot to take back the lead (39-37).
Montana Western extended the lead to 12 at one point in the third quarter. The Skylights kept battling back and cut the lead to nine going into the fourth (57-48). Lawrence hit a three-pointer to cut the lead to one with 1:24 on the clock. Goldhahn caused an offensive foul on Fitzgerald to give Northern back the ball. Northern was able to convert, as Hovde got an offensive board and put back to take the lead by one with :34 second on the clock. Fitzgerald went 1-2 from the free throw line to tie the game. Gilham hit a two-point shot to take the game.

Individual Stats:
The Skylights were led by Tiara Gilham, who had 19 points and seven rebounds. Sydney Hovde added a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds. L'Tia Lawrence had 18 point going 6-13 from the field. McKenzie Gunter added 14 points going 6-9 from the field. Gunter also had nine assists on the night.
 
The Bulldogs were led by Brynley Fitzgerald with 21 points and seven rebounds. Shainy Mack added 14 points and went for 6-10. Jenni Weber added nine points going 3-5 from the three.

Stats of the Game:
The MSU-Northern Skylights shot a field goal percentage of 51, 46 percent from the arc, and 64 percent from the free throw line.
 
Montana Western shot 46 percentage from the field, 42 percent from the 3-point line, and 76 percent from the free throw.

The Skylights are 5-12 in the overall season and 4-9 in the Frontier Conference.
