Carroll College Tops Lights

Story of the Game:
The MSU-Northern Lights played Carroll College on March 27 in the afternoon in Helena, Montana.  The Lights lost to the Saints 7-49.  Northern tallied 201 yards of total offense (106 passing and 95 rushing), while the Saints accounted for 489, of which 344 yards were on the ground.  There were two sacks on the night (two on College of Idaho).

Individual Stats:
Northern quarterback 
Brenden Medina went 6 for 10 through the air for 71 yards and had one touchdown. Tyrese Rios caught five passes for 74 yards. Andrez Trahan-Proctor carried the ball 20 times for 78 yards. Cannan Smith added three carries for 25 yards. Northern's defense was led by Dylan Wampler, who accounted for 13 total tackles three of which were solo. 

Carroll College quarterback Devan Bridgewater completed 11 of 18 passes for 124 yards and one touchdown. Matthew Burgees carried the ball 25 times for 152 yards with two touchdowns. Tony Collins had two catches for 45 yards. The Saints defense was led by Nainoa Soto, TJ Abraham, Rex Irby, and Garrett Kocab, who each had six tackles. Nick Anderson added one sack, and one forced fumble.

The Lights so Far:
The Lights drop to 0-2 on the season. Carroll College is 1-1 in the Frontier Conference.

Up Next:
The Lights will host Rocky Mountain College on April 3. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. Saturday.
