Lights Battle Against Montana Western

Story of the Game:
The MSU-Northern Lights played University of Montana Western on Saturday afternoon in Dillon, Montana.  The Lights lose to the Bulldogs 42-28.  Northern tallied 429 yards of total offense (218 passing and 21 rushing), while the Bulldogs accounted for 412, of which 216 yards were on the ground.


Individual Stats:
Northern quarterback Kaymen Cureton went 22 for 40 through the air for 218 yards and one touchdowns. Tyrese Rios caught seven passes for 64 yards, while Jake Horner had three catches for 43 yards. Izayah Boss ran the ball 22 times for 122 yards. Northern's defense was led by Hunter Riley who accounted for 10 total tackles. Joshua Rose added an interceptions, as Isaiah Paul added two interceptions.  

Montana Western quarterback Jon Jund completed 14 of 30 passes for 196 yards and four touchdowns. Running back Colten McPhee carried the ball 26 times for 161 yards.  Nate Simkins led the receivers with eight catches for 92 yards with three touchdowns.  The defense was led by Joe Caicedo who each had 12 tackles. Reese Artz and Kenai Liua each had a sack.

The Lights so Far:
The Lights drop to 0-3 on the season. Montana Western moves to 2-1 in the Frontier Conference.

Up Next:
The Lights will be at home against Rocky Mountain College. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. Saturday.
