The MSU-Northern Skylights played in the Preseason-Frontier Conference Tournament on Friday. They lost in their first match of the day against Montana Western in four (23-25, 25-14, 24-26 and 24-26).
The Skylights won in their second game against Montana Tech in five sets (25-23, 25-21, 19-25, 15-25 and 17-15).
The Skylights were led by
Rylee Burmester, who had 26 kills and 42 digs on the night.
Shania Neubauer led the team in digs with 64.
Emily Feller accounted for 95 assists on the night.
Montana Western was led by Danyel Martin, who had 11 kills with a hitting percentage of .647. Kelsey Goddard led the team in digs with 28. Kaylee Fritz had 93 assists.
Olivia Muir led Montana Tech with 17 kills hitting a .204 percent. Sarah Hopcroft led the team in digs with 37. McKenna Kaelber led the team in assists with 46.
In the Skylights first match, they hit a percentage of .162, while Montana Western hit .103. Northern had 97 digs, as the Bulldogs had 93.
In Northern's second match, they had a hitting percentage of .159, as the Orediggers hit .187. The Skylights had 104 digs, while Montana Tech had 103 digs.
The Skylights move to 9-6 overall.
The Bulldogs move to 6-4 overall.
The Orediggers move to 10-3 overall.
