The Lights had a good start to their year as they had nine wrestler places in the top three (two champions, two wrestlers take second, and five take third).
125-Tanner Cook had a bye right out of the gate. In the second round, Cook beat Jaren Marx from Western Wyoming College with a major decision 13-3. He will go against Bridger Ricks in the Championship round, which he lost with a decision of 5-1 taking Second Place.
125-Leo Anderson lost to Bridger Ricks in his first match by a Fall 2:13. In his first consolation round, he beat Roberto Garcia from providence by a close decision 8-6. He lost his next one to Jaren Marx from Western Wyoming College with a decision 8-5.
133-Cooper Cook lost his first round to Isaiah Rubio from Western Wyoming College by a Fall at 4:52. Cook had a bye in his first consolation round. His next match was against Jose Treyes, who he won with a decision of 9-2. Cook beat Northern Brennon McDermott by a Fall 4:47 to take Third Place.
133- Brennon McDermott lost his first match to Jose Treyes from Northwest College by a decision 5-2. His next match was against Elijah Cha Kaawa-Palakiko from Providence, who he beat by a Fall 0:00. McDermott lost to Northern Cook by a Fall 4:47.
141-Colin Silverthorn come out hot as he pinned Providence Caleb Birdwell at 4:09. He won his second match to Providence Dante Reviglio by a major decision 8-0. In the championship round, he lost to Northwest College Boburjon Berdiyorov by a Fall 2:34 taking Second Place.
149- Martin Wilkie took on Providence Jordan Darby in his first match and won by a Fall 3:45. In this second match, he won by a decision 7-1 to Jalen Vladic from Providence. In the Championship round, Wilkie won Wyatt McDermott from Western Wyoming College by a Fall 1:30 making him the Champion in 149 lb.
149-Georgino Moraga first match was against Gavin Gies from Providence, where he won in a decision 6-3. He went on to wrestle Wyatt McDermott from Western Wyoming College and lost in a close decision 9-8. Moraga lost in the consolation round to Jax Coburn from Western Wyoming College in a decision 14-8.
157-Gavin McLean beat Zander Burnison from Providence by a fall 4:30. His second match, he lost to Aden Graves from Providence by a fall :46. McLean took on Connor Harris from Northern and lost by a fall :45.
157-Connor Harris lost his first match against Jayden Luttrell from Western Wyoming College with a fall 6:00. Harris beat Ethan Coy from Western Wyoming College in his second match by a fall 2:05. Connor dominated McLean from Northern in a fall :45. Harris took Third Place beating Dougie Swanson with a decision 7-4.
165-Devin Crawford dominated his first opponent Holden Andrews from Western Wyoming College by a major decision 12-1. Next round, Crawford won by default to Zach Valdez. He beat Gatlin Wilson from Western Wyoming College by a fall 2:48. Crawford took First Place beating Bridger Hall from Providence by a Tech Fall 17-0 in the Championship round.
165- Zach Valdez lost in his first match against Holden Andrews from Western Wyoming College with a decision of 7-4. The second round was a high scoring match with Zach taking the win over Bridger Hall from Providence by a decision 16-14. Valdez gave up by default to Northern Devin Crawford. Zach beat Gatlin Wilson from Western Wyoming College by major decision to take Third Place.
174-Cade Gubler lost his first match against Christian Smoot from Western Wyoming by a tech fall 17-2. His next round he lost to Aziz Fayzullaev from Northwest College by a fall 2:40. Gubler took on Blaze Sumiye from Providence, who won by a fall 1:18 to take Third Place.
184-Austin Vanek lost to his first opponent Hayden Schrull from Providence by a close decision 3-2. In his second match, he beat Caleb Warner from Providence by a fall 4:45. Vanek lost to Alan Badley from Providence by a decision 9-3.
184- Reece White lost in his first match to Sawyer Hobbs from Providence by a fall 1:33. He won his second match against Cody Todd from Northwest College by a Decision 4-2. White lost his third match to Hayden Schrull from Providence by a fall 2:40.
197-Carroll Hansen lost his first-round match to Jacob Fuentes from Western Wyoming College by a decision 6-3. He dominated Jacob Anderson from Providence in his second match by a tech fall 21-3. Hansen lost to Liam Swanson from Providence by a decision 7-4 to take Third Place.
285-Shane Mattson lost his first match to Kc Buday from Providence by a major decision 10-1. Mattson won his second match by a fall 0:45 against Leighton Jensen from Northwest College. He lost this third match to Ethan DeRoche from Providence by a major decision 12-0.
