Lights Drop to Eastern Oregon 28-3

Story of the Game:
The MSU-Northern Lights lost to Eastern Oregon University 28-3 on Saturday afternoon in Havre, Montana. Northern tallied 253 yards of total offense (157 rushing), while Eastern Oregon accounted for 365, of which 257 yards were in the air. 

Eastern Oregon came out hot, as they passed to Malachi Spurrie up the sideline for a 61 yard touchdown. Same thing happened at the beginning of the second quarter, completing a 70 yard catch to Blake Davis up the sideline for a touchdown. The Lights had a great run at the end of the first quarter to set up a 25 yard field goal to score three points. The Mountaineers scored 14 points in the third quarter, as the Lights held them scoreless in the fourth quarter.

Individual Stats:
Northern quarterback Donte Maiuri went 12 for 24 through the air for 75 yards. Caymus Thomas caught 6 passes for 53 yards. Mason Dionne ran the ball 31 times for 120 yards. Northern's defense was led by Dylan Wampler with nine total tackles (eight solo). Spencer Lehnerz added six tackles.

Eastern Oregon's quarterback Quincy Glasper completed 18 of 28 passes for 257 yards. Running back Aiden Patterson carried the ball 10 times for 65 yards. Malachi Spurrie led the receivers with six catch for 116 yards and two touchdown. The defense was led by Gabriel Shukle, who had 10 tackles (6 solo).

The Lights so Far:
The Lights move to 1-4 on the season and 0-3 in Conference play. The Mountaineers move to 2-2.
