Story of the Game:
The MSU-Northern Skylights beat Dickinson State University in their home opener 76-58 in Havre, Montana. Dickinson outscored the Skylights 22-18. They kept their momentum in the second quarter going into halftime 40-33. The Skylights came out of the third quarter on fire scoring eight straight points and taking the lead by one. Forner hit a three at the buzzer to push the lead to seven going into the fourth quarter. Northern went on a 14-0 run to start the fourth quarter. The Skylights kept the lead to win the game.
Individual Stats:
The Skylights were led by
Taya Trottier, who had 17 points, and seven assists.
Canzas HisBadHorse went 7-13 from the field with 15 points.
Katelynn Forner added 10 points and
Maddie Williamson had four steals.
The Blue Hawks were led by Kayden Steele with 20 points going 9-12 from the field. Samantha Oase added 12 points and 12 rebounds. Katherine Fox added 11 points.
