Story of the Match:
The MSU-Northern Skylights volleyball team went two of two in the Big Sky Challenge against Bushnell University and Loyola on Saturday in Butte, Montana. The MSU-Northern Skylights beat the Beacons in three sets (25-22, 25-19, and 25-23). Bushnell jump to the top right away taking the lead. The Skylights didn't back down, as they went on a 10-2 run to take the lead 17-15. Northern went on a 5-1 run to end the set.

The Beacons took the lead early in the second set, but the Skylights went on a 11-0 run to take the lead (17-12). The Beacons couldn't keep up, as the Skylights took the second set. Northern took the lead early in the third set, but Bushnell came back to take the lead late in the set. The Skylights finished strong, as they went on a 5-2 run to take the match.

The Skylights beat Loyola in four sets (27-25, 22-25, 25-16, and 25-14). In the second match against Loyola, the Skylights took the lead early, but the Wolves went on a 11-1 run to take the lead 22-17. Northern battled back going on a 10-3 run to end the first set. Loyola took the second set going up 23-19 and finishing the set 25-22. In the third set, the Skylights took and lead and never gave it up, as they went on a 9-0 run to win the third set. Northern jumped on the Wolves early and never looked back.

Stars of the Match:
The Skylights were led by Alana Graves against the Beacons with nine kills and a hitting percentage of .500. Jessalyn Chvilicek added 12 kills with a percent of .296. Macee Murphy led the team in digs with 16 each. Emily Feller led the Skylights with 21 assists.

Bushnell University were led by Hailey Heider with 10 kills hitting a percent of .147. Bella Parque led the team in digs with 21, as Elijah Sanders led in assists with 18.
 
The Skylights were led by Macee Murphy against the Wolves with 16 kills and a hitting percentage of .311. Alyssa Pretty Weasel added 10 kills with a percent of .156. Baily Eagan led the team in digs with 28 each. Macee Murphy led the Skylights with 22 assists.

Loyola University were led by Amaya Bazemore with 13 kills hitting a percent of .312. Simone Moreau led the team in digs with 19, as Ellie Connor led in assists with 17.

Stats of the Match:
The MSU-Northern had a hitting percentage of .236 on the day, while the Beacons hit .150. Northern also had 73 digs to the Beacons 64. Northern added six blocks.  

The MSU-Northern had a hitting percentage of .186 on the day, while the Wolves hit .101. Northern also had 105 digs to the Wolves 91.

The Skylights will head to Great Falls next weekend to play two matches on the 24. Northern will play Ottawa University-Arizona at 11 a.m. and against Evergreen State at 3 p.m.
