Eastern Oregon University held off a late push from Montana State–Northern to secure a narrow 24–22 victory in a competitive dual that featured momentum swings throughout the lineup.
EOU jumped out early, winning four of the first five bouts to build a commanding lead. Jackson Eylar set the tone at 125 pounds with a 5–0 decision over Tobey Forman, followed by a trio of technical falls from Kai Carson (133), Daniel Guerrero (141), and Cole Cross (149) to give the Mountaineers a sizable advantage.
Montana State–Northern responded in the middle weights. Ryan Graves earned a 5–1 decision at 157, and Justin Windauer electrified the crowd with a fall at 165 to pull the Lights back into contention. Northern kept the momentum rolling as Orion Thivierge claimed a 6–3 decision at 174, and Cade Gubler added another pin at 184 to swing the dual in Northern's favor.
Eastern Oregon regained critical team points at 197 pounds with a forfeit, which ultimately proved decisive. At heavyweight, Shane Mattson closed the night with an 11–1 major decision for MSU–Northern, but it wasn't enough to overcome EOU's early cushion.
The Lights will head to Reno on December 21 before Christmas Break.
