Montana State University-Northern put together a complete performance on December 17, rolling past Northwest Poly Tech with a decisive 116–51 victory. The Lights wasted little time establishing control, building a commanding 50–27 lead by halftime behind efficient shooting and balanced scoring. Northern continued to apply pressure after the break, outscoring the hosts 66–24 in the second half to seal the lopsided win.
Offensively, Montana State-Northern was firing on all cylinders, shooting at a high percentage from both the floor and beyond the arc while consistently moving the ball to create open looks.
Raefe McEnroe led the way with 22 points, adding four rebounds and four assists, while
Tracen Jilot contributed an all-around effort with 18 points, five rebounds, and five assists.
Austin Ramos provided a spark from long range, knocking down five three-pointers on his way to 17 points, and
Luke Holecek added 13 points.
Donovan Avery chipped in with 11 points and eight rebounds as the Lights saw production up and down the lineup.
Northwest Poly Tech struggled to keep pace offensively against Northern's defensive pressure. Romarie Johnson paced the Wildcats with 12 points, while Nathaniel Backe added 10, but the team was unable to generate consistent scoring throughout the game.
The Lights will head into Christmas Break 7-5 overall and 3-4 in Conference. The Lights will play against Lakeland University on December 28 at 8pm.
