The
Montana State University-Northern women's basketball team delivered a standout performance, cruising past
Lakeland University with a final score of
111–30.
From the outset, Northern took control of the game, outscoring Lakeland in every quarter and showcasing both offensive efficiency and defensive pressure. The
opening quarter set the tone, as Northern built a 30-7 cushion that they steadily expanded throughout the night.
Northern's offense was impressive, shooting nearly 60 percent from the field (50-of-84) and moving the ball effectively to generate quality scoring opportunities. The team also contributed 27 assists, reflecting strong ball movement and unselfish play.
Standout performances came from several Northern players:
- Ciera Agasiva led all scorers with 20 points, combining inside scoring with aggressive drives to the basket.
- Becky Melcher added 16 points, including multiple three-point baskets that helped maintain Northern's offensive rhythm.
- Taya Trottier posted 15 points with efficient shooting and contributions on both ends of the floor.
- Canzas HisBadHorse also scored 15 points, giving Northern balanced scoring options across its lineup.
Supporting contributors such as
Madi King (12 points) and
Addie Kiefer (9 points) bolstered the scoring and maintained the team's dominant pace throughout all four quarters.
On the other side,
Lakeland University struggled offensively, finishing with just 30 points on 28.9 percent shooting. Their offense was led by
Declynn Wood, who scored
11 points and accounted for a majority of Lakeland's scoring production.
The Skylights will play tomorrow at 1pm against Lakeland.
