MSU-Northern Edges Dickinson State 86–76 in Competitive Frontier Clash

On Saturday, December 6, 2025, in Havre, the MSU‑Northern Lights men's basketball team earned a hard-fought 86–76 victory over the Dickinson State Blue Hawks.

The game featured efficient shooting and balanced scoring from Northern, who shot 59.3 percent from the field (32-of-54) and knocked down half of their three-point attempts (9-of-18). From the start, the Lights displayed poise and aggression, pushing inside and out — scoring 32 points in the paint compared to Dickinson State's 20.  Their bench also stepped up, contributing 37 of the team's 86 points, providing valuable support when starters rested.

Dickinson State fought hard and managed respectable numbers themselves, shooting 47.9 percent overall and hitting 11 three-pointers. But Northern's defensive discipline, lower turnover count (just 4 compared to Dickinson's 8), and ability to convert on opportunities proved decisive down the stretch.

In the end, MSU-Northern controlled key moments on offense and defense, maintaining enough separation late to close out with a 10-point win and strengthen their standing in conference play.
