The MSU-Northern Skylights bounced back strong on Thursday afternoon, defeating RV Taylor University in four sets (25-22, 25-20, 17-25, 25-19).

The Skylights were efficient offensively, hitting .320 with 54 kills, while also matching Taylor with 49 digs and adding seven service aces.

Set one was tightly contested, but Northern strung together a late 7-3 run to pull away and secure the opener. The second frame followed a similar script—back and forth early before the Skylights pushed ahead late with another 7-3 burst to go up 2-0.

Taylor responded in the third, jumping out to a 14-7 lead and never looking back despite a Northern push. In the fourth, the Trojans once again opened strong with a 6-2 lead, but the Skylights stormed back with a 6-1 run to take control. From there, Northern built a 19-14 advantage and held off Taylor's final rally to close out the match.

Taylor was led by Ellie Frey with a match-high 19 kills on .382 hitting and nine digs. McKaylah Flagle anchored the defense with 16 digs, while Lindsay Springer dished out 27 assists.

For Northern, Macy Uffleman paced the attack with 12 kills on an efficient .435 hitting. Setter Macee Selman had a strong all-around night with 10 kills, 25 assists, and seven digs, while Addison Falls Down chipped in 17 assists and nine digs.

The Skylights (2-3) return to action tomorrow, facing Ottawa University Arizona at 1 p.m. in Butte.
