The Montana State University-Northern Skylights fell to the University of Providence Argos in straight sets Wednesday evening, 25-23, 25-19, 25-21.
Northern battled throughout the opening set, staying within striking distance before Providence secured the 25-23 victory. The Argos carried that momentum into the second set, taking a 25-19 win, before closing out the match with a 25-21 victory in the third.
Macy Uffelman led the Skylights offensively with eight kills, while
Addison Falls Down added seven kills and
Kendall Scheffelmear finished with six.
Caleigh Case was effective at the net, recording a team-high nine total blocks, while Falls Down contributed five blocks.
Emily Bird directed the Northern offense with 16 assists, followed by Falls Down with 12.
Kambria Maloy paced the Skylights defensively with 16 digs, while Bird added 15 and Uffelman finished with 14.
Northern finished the match with 34 kills, nine blocks and 66 digs. The Skylights also recorded three service aces.
With the loss, Northern moves to 8-10 overall and 4-8 in Frontier Conference play, while Providence improves to 14-5 overall and 8-4 in conference action.
