In a Frontier Conference showdown on February 20, the Montana Tech Orediggers powered past Montana State University–Northern with a commanding 90–63 victory.
Montana Tech wasted no time asserting control, building a 49–27 lead by halftime behind efficient shooting and a strong defensive presence. The Orediggers continued to apply pressure in the second half, stretching the lead to as many as 30 points en route to the 27-point conference win.
Tech shot nearly 60 percent from the field and connected on 12 three-pointers, showcasing a balanced offensive attack. Brayden Koch led the charge with 26 points, knocking down seven shots from beyond the arc. Camdyn LaRance added 14 points and grabbed a team-high nine rebounds, while Hayden Diekhans contributed 11 points to round out the double-figure scorers.
Northern struggled to find consistent rhythm offensively, shooting 36 percent from the floor and 28 percent from three-point range.
Austin Ramos paced the Skylights with 15 points, while
Tracen Jilot added 12 and
Luke Holecek chipped in 11.
The Lights drop to 16-11 overall and 11-10 in Conference. They will play tomorrow on Senior Night against Montana Western in their last Conference game before the tournament.
