Cross Country Sign Flansburg from Great Falls

Montana State University-Northern Head Cross Country Coach Deborah Callahan announced the signing of Jordan Flansburg to join the Cross Country and Distance Track program this fall.  

"I'm very excited that Jordan will be coming to MSU-Northern and joining our Cross Country and Track team." said Coach Callahan. "What I'm finding out in our recruiting and visiting the smaller communities across Montana and now even smaller schools in larger communities that athletes do it all for their team, teammates and the school and this young man has done it all." "This young man's commitment, faith and grit have done a great job defining his journey and we are excited to be part of his advancement to the next level of his academic and athletic career." 

Jordan is from Great Falls, MT where he is attending the St. Patrick Academy High School. As a runner in cross country, Jordan achieved a personal best time of 17.22 in the 5000-meter event. He currently holds the school's record with this time. On the track, his times continued to improve across multiple distances, including 2:15 in 800 meters, 4.47 in the 1600 meters and 10.33 in the 3200 meters.  

Jordan earned All-State honors in Cross Country and All-Conference honors in Track. When he is not running, he plays basketball, football, and golf. While participating in basketball this past season, he averaged 19 points for his senior season with All-State and All-Conference honors. 

"Jordan is an outstanding athlete and an even better teammate." states Hunter Sowers, St. Patrick's Academy Head Cross Country Coach. "He not only pushes himself every day to get better, but he also pushes his teammates. His dedication, endurance, and mental toughness really set him apart." 

"Jordan has played a significant role in building and representing Wolfhound Athletics with pride. His work ethic, leadership and commitment to his teammates have left a lasting impact on our program'" states Jamie Stevens, AD for the St. Patrick's Academy High School. "We are incredibly proud and excited to see him continue his career as a LIGHT at MSU Northern." 

Jordan is the son of Chelsea Hasler. "It has been fun watching him develop into the great runner he is!" states Chelsea. "We can't wait to see what his future holds!!" 

 Jordan plans to major in Education. When asked why he chose Northern, he replied, "After my campus visit, it was a great FIT!"  Coach Callahan states "We look forward to his contribution to the team and watching him grow here at MSU Northern.
