Jake Chestnut

Jake Chestnut will be in his second season as the Defensive Coordinator and Linebacker’s Coach with the Montana State Northern football program during the 2019 season. He joins the Lights after spending time with Notre Dame College.

In his first season guiding the linebackers at Notre Dame College, Chestnut assisted the Falcon defense who ranked third in scoring in the Mountain East Conference. Notre Dame College did well against opponents trying to get first downs as the team ranked second in opponents’ third-down conversions (33.1 percent) and first in fourth-down conversions (29.2 percent).
During his time at Notre Dame College, Chestnut coached multiple players to earn All-Conference Honors.

Chestnut graduated from Notre Dame College with a Bachelor’s degree as a Mild/Moderate Intervention Specialist. Prior to joining the Notre Dame College football staff, Chestnut was a four-year starter for the Falcons at Linebacker. Throughout his playing career, Chestnut earned All-Conference and Academic All-American Honors.
