During the 2021 Spring Season with the Lights, Jake Maxwell coached an offensive line unit that featured a 2nd Team All-Conference Center in Spencer Kolody.

Maxwell spent just over a year as a graduate assistant coach working with the offensive line and tight ends during his time at East Central University (2019-2020). He coached two First Team All GAC players and one 2nd Team All GAC player in his first season working with the OL at ECU. He moved to also coach tight ends after the 2019 season. For the 2019 season he assisted in constructing an offense that increased its production 1900 yards and 13 points per game from the previous season while being the only offense in the GAC with 190 rushing and passing yards per game. Maxwell also was the assistant NFL liaison and the graphics creator for the 2020 season.

During the 2018 season Maxwell spent his time coaching the offensive line and coordinating the run game for Edgewood High School in Madison, WI. In the 2018 season, Maxwell also spent his time volunteering for the Wisconsin Badgers, and would breakdown their opponents film weekly. Maxwell also spent the spring of 2019 assisting Wisconsin Badgers offensive coordinator, Joe Rudolph, with the offensive line during spring practices.

Before coaching, Maxwell spent three years playing for the University of Wisconsin, but his career was sidelined due to various injuries. Maxwell played right tackle during his time on the Badgers. He played 18 games, with 12 starts, including a start in the Holiday Bowl vs. USC 2015.

Maxwell earned a bachelor’s degree in life sciences communication from the University of Wisconsin in 2019. He also earned his master’s degree in sports administration from East Central University in 2020.

He and his wife Sophia, and his son Levvy, now reside in Havre, MT.
