Steve Broussard enters his first year at Montana State University- Northern. He comes to Northern with a wealth of coaching experience at the high school and collegiate levels. Most recently, he was the Head Football Coach and Dean of Students at St. Bernard Catholic High School in Playa Del Rey, California.

Broussard's playing experience included a standout career at Washington State before being drafted as the 20th overall pick in the 1990 draft by the Atlanta Falcons. At WSU, he was only the second player in conference history to lead the league in receiving yards one year and rushing the next. As a senior, he led the Pac-10 in all-purpose yards, averaging 162.7 per game. At the completion of his career he sat third on the Cougar's all-time single-season list with 3,054 yards and fifth in receptions with 120.  Broussard was inducted to the Washington State University Hall of Fame in 2015. 

In four seasons with the Falcons, he rushed for 1,472 yards, including 454 during his rookie campaign, caught 48 passes and registered 12 touchdowns. In his lone season with the Bengals, Broussard rushed for 403 yards and registered 43 receptions. As a Seahawk, he amassed 418 yards and caught 24 passes in his best season. After nine years in the NFL, he had 578 rushing attempts for 2,625 yards and caught 126 passes for 882 yards, as well as adding 22 touchdowns to his total.

Steve is married to Tamara Broussard and has three kids (Talin 29, Steve JR 23, Kendra 13).
