Biography

2023…NaKoda earned his starting spot at 174 and was a force in the NAIA.  Ranked in the Top 5 all season long, Koda posted a record of 30-6 with 6 pins.  He placed 1st at the Trapper Open, Co-Champ at the Spokane Open, 1st at Battle of the Rockies, 5th at the Reno TOC, 2nd at the Missouri Valley Invitational and 2nd at the Cascade Conference Championships.  IIn his second trip to the NAIA National Championships, he earned his second All-American honor placing 4th.  NaKoda was named MSU-Northern Male Athlete of the Year in 2022-23. 
2022…Koda became the starter at 174 and became an All-American in 2021-22.  NaKoda placed 4th at the CMU Open, 1st at the Spokane Open, 4th at the Missouri Valley Invite, 2nd at the Cascade Conference Championships before take 5th at the NAIA National Championships to earn his first All-American honors.  NaKoda entered the NAIA Championships as the #10 seed and had to battle hard through the consolations to earn AA honors after falling in the second round to the #7 seed by a score or 2-3.  In the consolations, NaKoda had 2 wins before facing the #5 seed from Grand View and Siegel was victorious by a score of 5-3 in sudden victory OT.  In the consolation semifinals, Koda fell to the #3 seed putting him in the 5th place match.  In his final match of the season, NaKoda bested the #6 seed by a score of 10-4 and giving him that first All-American credential.  
2021…In the 2020-21 season, NaKoda took the season off and trained for the upcoming 2021-22 season.
2020…After transferring in during the Spring of 2020, NaKoda stepped in a starting role and made the most of his opportunity for the Lights.  During the Spring he placed 2nd at the Tyler Plummer Classic and 6th at the Cascade Conference Championships, narrowly missing a National Qualifying spot.  While NaKoda was here, he bested many ranked opponents, earning him a National Ranking in the short 2 months he competed. 
2019…Nakoda spent the Fall Semester of 2018 at Campbell University competing as a Redshirt during the semester before transferring the MSU-Northern for the Spring term 2019.
HIGH SCHOOL…A 2x Montana State Champion and 4x Placer going 1st, 1st, 4th and 4th.
