Lights toppled by Orediggers

Story of the Game
The Northern Lights lost in devastating fashion to the No. 11 Montana Tech Orediggers 19-93 in Butte on Saturday afternoon.  Northern  finished the game with just 333 total yards (140 yards rushing and 193 yards passing).

Stat of the Game
Northern was forced to punt 11 different times over the course of the contest while Tech tallied just one punt on the day.  Junior punter Sam Tapia netted 362 yards on his 11 attempts, his longest being a 44 yard boot.

Turning Point
The Oredigger defense shut out the Lights in the first haft of action, leading 66-0 at the half.  Early in the third, senior linebacker Garet Fowler forced a fumble that eventually led to Northern's first score of the game; a 43 yard rushing touchdown by junior running back Trey Blanchard that put the score at 7-66.  

The Lights So Far
The loss moves Northern to 0-7 in Frontier Conference play (1-7 overall).
