Saints Power Past the Lights

Story of the Game
In the Lights first game under Interim Head Coach Jake Eldridge, Northern was upended by the Fighting Saints of Carroll College 7-59 on Saturday.

Stat of the Game
Northern was held to a season low in total yardage as they accumulated just 97 yards (26 rushing and 71 passing).  Freshman quarterback Dylan Cook led the Lights in passing yardage with 52 yards on one completion and two attempts; he connected with senior wide out Beau Wilhelm on a 52 yard touchdown in the third quarter of action.

Turning Point
Things looked promising on the day as Northern forced a Carroll College fumble on their first drive of the quarter at their own one-yard line.  The Lights were unable to convert  on the turnover and went on to give up three straight Saints' touchdowns to put the score at 21-0 at the end of the first quarter.  Northern was forced to punt twice in the second quarter and gave up an interception that resulted in another Carroll touchdown to put the score at 27-0 at the end of the half.

Northern sits in last place in the Frontier Conference with a record of 0-8 (1-8 overall).
