Story of the Game
In their last home game of the 2017 season, the MSU-Northern Lights put up a hard fought battle against the No. 7 Southern Oregon University Raiders but eventually fell 17-38. It was also Senior Day at Blue Pony Stadium as the Northern fans gathered to show their appreciation to the seniors for all their hard work on and off the field and their dedication to the program. The seniors are

Stat of the Game
Despite giving up 31 first half points to SOU, the Lights outscored the Raiders 17-7 in the second half. The Lights defense tallied 73 tackles (41 solo and 32 assisted) with seniors
Steven Fernandez and
Dakota Schelling both collecting 12 each.
Turning Point
Senior kicker
Tommy Langley drilled a 31-yard field goal to move the score to 3-31 and junior quarterback
Tommy Wilson went on to connect with senior wideout
Beau Wilhelm on a five-yard touchdown pass in the closing minutes of the third quarter to cut the lead to 10-38. Freshman quarterbackÂ
Dylan Cook scored Northern's last points of the game early in the fourth quarter when he rushed for a two-yard touchdown bringing the score to 17-38.
The Lights So Far
With the loss, Northern drops to 0-9 in Frontier Conference standings (1-9 overall).
Up Next
The Lights will close out their season as they head to Caldwell, Idaho to take on the College of Idaho Yotes in Frontier Conference action on Nov. 11. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:00PM at Simplot Stadium. All game links can be found on the football schedule page.
