Story of the Game
The MSU-Northern Lights basketball campaign kicked off their 2017 season with a win over the Cougars of Mount Royal University 95-80. Five different Lights scored in double figures and the bench contributed 45 total points on the night.
Stat of the Game
Northern shot an impressive 45.9 percent from beyond the arc, connecting on 17 of 37 attempts. Sophomore guard
Adam Huse had a game-high 28 points and was 7-12 from the three-point line.
Turning Point
The Lights started off hot as they went on a 14-2 run early in the first half and extended their lead to 19 points at the half as they went into the locker room up 53-34. The second half was similar to the first as Northern pushed the lead to 26 points early on in the stanza. The Lights never trailed in the contest. Â

Northern is now 1-0 on the season.

The Lights are on the road Nov. 1 as they travel to Bozeman to take on the Montana State University Bobcats in an exhibition game. Game links will not be available due to it being an exhibition game.
