Story of the Game
In their first of three remaining away conference matches, the Skylights fell in straight sets to the Carroll College Fighting Saints (20-25, 16-25, 13-25).  Northern's hitting percentage was just .074 (19 kills on 81 attempts) on the night .

Stat of the Match
The defense of the Skylights did their best ot withstand the hot hitting of the Saints throughout the match, collecting 39 total team digs.  Freshman defensive specialist Ashley Ponce led the team with 10.

Turning Point
The Skylights started off strong in each set of matchplay, but were unable to seal any with a win.  In the first set, both Northern and Carroll exchanged points until they were tied at 5-5.  Carroll then pushed the lead to 10 points to move the score to 20-10.  The Skylights pushed back and used a 10-2 run to bring the set within three points at 20-23 before falling 20-25.  Six different leads in the second set helped Northern to an 11-10 advantage at the midway point, but Carroll used several Skylight service and hitting errors to pull ahead to seal the win.

The Skylights So Far
Northern is now 3-7 in the Frontier Conference (tied for sixth in the conference) and 9-15 overall.

The Skylights continue their play on the road, this time traveling to Lewiston, ID and Butte for their last two games of regular season action.  The match against LCSC is on Nov. 2 and then Nov. 4 against Montana Tech.  Match times and links are available on the schedule page.
