Story of the Game
The MSU-Northern Skylights picked up a big win on the road last night in Dillon as they swept the Montana-Western Bulldogs in three sets (25-21, 25-21, 25- 20). Although the Bulldogs led in the kill, attempt, and assist categories, they also committed 26 attack errors (that led to a .064 overall hitting percentage) and seven serving errors.
Stat of the Match
Northern blockers showed up big at the net, collected 12 total team blocks (five solos, 12 block assists) with just one blocking error. Leading the way was sophomore middle hitter
Katia Michelotti who tallied three solo blocks and two block assists. On the opposite side of the net, the Montana-Western Bulldogs had just one block with three errors.
Turning Point
The Skylights got off to a hot start as they posted 12 kills off 35 attempts (with just four errors) to hit for a 0.229 in the first set. They continued their solid offensive play in the second set and after being tied 16-16, Northern went on a five-point run that helped them claim the win.

Northern snaps a three game losing streak and moves to 3-4 in Frontier Conference play (9-12 overall).
Up Next
The Skylights will utilize their upcoming bye week to prepare for their next conference opponent, the Battlin' Bears of Rocky Mountain College. Northern will take on RMC Oct. 20 at 7:00 PM in the Armory Gymnasium. The match is scheduled at the "Adoptive Parents" night. Game links are available on the schedule page.
