In their first Frontier Conference matchup of the 2017-2018 campaign, the Lights got a big overtime win over the Battlin' Bears of Rocky Mountain College 99-93.

Six Northern players scored in double digits on the night, led by senior guard
Charles Porter who scored 21 points on 8-of-12 shots from the field. Â
Turning Point
After being down by six points in the second half,
Porter tied the game with eight seconds left in regulation after converting a three-point play. RMC was unable to score in the winding seconds, sending the game into overtime. In the final stanza, the Lights got a huge three-point bucket from junior forward
Justin Dunsmore to take a four-point lead (93-89) with 26 seconds left. Northern finished out the game hitting 6-6 from the charity strip to secure the win.

Northern moves to 7-2 overall and 1-0 in conference action.
