Story of the Game
The MSU- Northern Skylights volleyball program started their 2017 campaign off with a loss to the Embry – Riddle Aeronautical University Eagles yesterday at the Johnson & Wales University Wildcat Classic.  The Skylights fell to the Eagles in three straight sets (21-25, 18-25, 14-25).

Stat of the Match
Northern tallied 41 total digs, just three shy of Embry-Riddle's 45.  Sophomore defensive specialist Hannah Amtmann led the team with 15.

Turning Point
The Skylights looked to close in on a win as they built a three point lead (12-9) midway through the first set, but the Eagles pulled away from a tied score (16-16) to win 25-21.  That was the last lead Northern had for the rest of the match.

The Skylights So Far
The match was the first of the season for the Skylights who fall to 0-1 in non-conference play (0-1 overall).

Up Next
Northern looks to bounce back as they have a double header today against No. 1 Hasting College (9:00am) and host team Johnson & Wales University (2:00pm).
