Story of the Game
Northern battled through four sets against Carroll College, but the Fighting Saints hitting arsenal proved to be too much for the Skylights to handle as they dropped their second match in conference action.

Stats of the Game
Despite the loss, the Skylights managed to rack up 111 digs in just four sets (the most so far this season).  Sophomore defensive specialist Hannah Amtmann collected 30 digs, while senior outside hitter Cassie Krueger tallied 29.

Turning Point
The Fighting Saints took the first set by just three points (25-22), but the Skylights clawed their way back in the second set using a four point run late in stanza to come out on top 25-22.  The third set was a back-and-forth battle that saw several ties and lead changes, but the Saints made a final push late in the set to secure the win 25-20.  Northern had a tough time carrying any momentum into the fourth and final set, playing from behind most of the time.  Another late run by Carroll College sealed the victory (25-21).

The Skylights So Far
The Skylights now drop to fourth in the Frontier Conference with a record of 2-2 (8-10 overall).

Up Next
Northern will now look to defend home court as they play host to two conference teams (Montana Tech and Lewis-Clark State College) next week on Sept. 28 and 30.  Live game links will be posted on the schedule page.
