The MSU-Northern Lights lose their 2017 season opener in dramatic fashion to the Rocky Mountain College Battlin' Bears 25-32.

Junior quarterback
Tommy Wilson led Northern's offense with 297 passing yards while throwing for three touchdowns and two interceptions.
Turning Point
The Lights led late in the fourth quarter after
Tommy Wilson connected with senior wide receiverÂ
Beau Wilhelm on a 36 yard touchdown pass to put Northern up 25-24 at the 1:17 mark. On the following kickoff, the Lights gave up an 80 yard kickoff return for a touchdown to put RMC up 31-25 at the 1:02 mark. Â With less than a minute remaining, Wilson marched his team down the field on connections with wide-outs
Seth Roemmele and
Marvin Williams. Â The drive proved to be unsuccessful as Wilson threw his second interception of the game resulting in Rocky taking a knee as time ran out.

Northern moves to 0-1 on the season after their loss to the Battlin' Bears.
