Story of the Game
The Skylights of MSU-Northern defeated the Benedictine-Mesa Redhawks in three straight sets today at the University of Providence "McLaughlin Center Unveiling" Invitational.  The scores of each set were 25-22, 25-23, and 25-12.

Stat of the Match
Northern's serving performance helped to ignite their offense throughout the match.  The Skylights quickly went up 6-0 to start the first set due in large part to senior defensive specialist Kylie Pasieka's three aces in her first 6 serves.  As a team, Northern collected 10 aces with just one error on the day.  Pasieka led the team with four.

Turning Point
After winning sets one and two by just five total points, Northern went on a run to start the third set and held the Redhawks to just 12 team points.  Aces from Pasieka and sophomore middle hitter Timi Severson early in the set contributed to a 9-1 Skylight run that eventually led to the sweep in three sets.

The Skylights So Far
With the win, Northern now moves to 5-8 on the season.
