Lights Win on Senior Night

Game Recap
The Lights started their final regular season home game off with a hot start as they quickly went up 10-0 over the visiting Argos of the University of Providence.  After a UP timeout however; the Argos scored on three straight possessions to cut the Northern lead to 10-6 at the 11:41 mark.  The Lights' defense did not allow UP to score double-digits until 7:35 left and ended the first half the same way they started; scoring 10 unanswered point to head into the locker room up 32-15.  A stingy Northern defense held the Argos to just 32 percent from the floor (7-of-22) and forced nine turnovers in the first half.  In the second half of action, UP did their best to cut into the Lights lead by knocking down a three-point shot and scoring two buckets in the paint to cut the Northern lead to 32-22.  The Lights maintained a double-digit lead for most of the second half and moved ahead by as many as 17 points when senior guard Charles Porter chased down a UP player to block the shot off the backboard which in turn led to a transition three-pointer by sophomore guard Adam Huse that moved the score to 45-28 at the 9:53 mark.  With 3:20 left in regulation, the Argos cut the lead to single digits at 53-44.  The highlight of the night came when junior guard Caulin Bakalarski drove to the key and threw up a lob pass to connect with senior forward Ryan Reeves on the alley-oop dunk with 1:45 left to play.  The slam moved the Lights ahead 59-47.

Stat of the Night:  Sophomore guard Adam Huse had a game-high 20 points in the victory as he went 7-of-12 from the field and 4-of-7 from beyond the arc.

The Lights Now:  Northern is now 8-9 in the Frontier Conference and 18-11 overall.
