Story of the Game
The MSU-Northern Lights won their season-opener by a score of 49-20 against Mayville State in Havre on Saturday afternoon. Â It was the first game under new Lights head coach
Andrew Rolin.
Stats of the Game
The Lights displayed offensive balance throughout the game. Northern had a total of 220 yards on the ground as well as 431 through the air (651 yards in total offense). Nine different Light receivers caught passes on the day.
The Lights defense was led by
Caymus Thomas and
Chase Gilbert who each registered 6 tackles. The Light defense also had 2 sacks and forced 2 fumbles. The Light defense held Mayville State to 49 rushing yards on the day.Â

Jett Robertson had 5 catches for 82 yards and a score, and carried the ball 28 times for 167 yards and 3 scores. Senior Quarterback
Tommy Wilson was 26 of 35 for 397 passing yards and 3 touchdowns. Kicker

Fotios Jordanoglou led the receiving corps with 7 catches for 131 yards and a touchdown.
Mayville State's offense was led by receiver Trent Momon who caught 10 passes for 154 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Mayville State quarterback Creighton Pfau went 27 of 44 through the air for 351 yards and 3 touchdowns.
