Lights Fall to Saints 14-32

Story of the Game:
The MSU-Northern Lights hosted Carroll College in a Frontier Conference contest on Homecoming Saturday afternoon in Havre.  The Lights fell to the Saints 32-14.  Northern tallied 261 yards of total offense (189 passing and 72 rushing), while the Saints accounted for 453, of which 287 yards were on the ground.  Neither team turned the ball over on the day, and there were only 7 penalties for 67 yards between the two teams.

Individual Stats:
Northern quarterback Tommy Wilson went 17 for 28 through the air for 189 yards and rushed for a pair of touchdowns.  Wideout Bryce Bumgardner caught 8 passes for 110 yards, while Keagan Stroop had 3 catches for 45 yards.  Running back Jett Robertson carried the ball 14 times for 42 yards and caught 3 passes out of the backfield.  Northern's defense was led by defensive back Caymus Thomas who accounted for 15 tackles, while linebackers Chase Gilbert and Jaren Maki each tallied 11.

Carroll quarterback Kolby Killoy completed 11 of 19 passes for 166 yards and a touchdown.  On the ground, the Saints produced 287 yards.  Running back Major Ali carried the ball 23 times for 133 yards and a score, while Ryan Arntson had 15 carries for 91 yards and a touchdown.  Troy Arntson led the Saints receivers with 5 catches for 64 yards, and Shane Sipes had 4 receptions for 65 yards and a score.  The Carroll defense was led by Beaugh Meyer and Reece Quade who each had 6 tackles.  Quade also accounted for one sack on the day.

The Lights fell to 1-3 on the season (0-3 Frontier).

Up Next:
The Lights will travel to Butte, Montana next weekend for a matchup with Montana Tech.  Kickoff is set for 1pm Saturday.
